Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory was my sick-day movie. My parents recorded it from ABC Family on a VHS tape along with Hook (RIP Mr. Williams). I knew the exact spot and length for every commercial break so I could perfectly time the fast-forward button on the VCR. Anyway, it’s been about a week since his death and I’ve realized I’m not sad about the loss of Gene Wilder. I just wish I could say thanks. For now, this’ll have to do: Thank you, Gene, for a magical childhood.

Although as an added bonus I always liked this version
