Eternal Truths Concerning Life, Love, Liberty and oh screw it (part three)

Life lessons learned as a 22 year old:

I have found no better way to start a sentence than, “As I was horseback riding through the mountains…”

There’s so much pressure to buck the confines of society, yet who does history remember? Not those who left the game, but those who mastered it, those who defined and redefined it, those who changed it even as they played it.

I wanted to include Emma Watson, but she didn’t fit in the collage. Also I couldn’t find a gif of Rosa Parks.

Battles that will never be won: mismatched socks, hugging short women, trying to fall asleep before midnight, not dropping my phone when there’s nothing but f***ing concrete.

Precisely how I feel EVERY D**N TIME

There is not enough time in your life to look at all the things on the internet. So don’t try.

Winning becomes really easy when you decide where the finish line is.

Or you could just be Usain Bolt. Being Usain Bolt is also a viable strategy.

I want a girl with a short skirt and a loooooooooooooooooooooooong jacket.

It is not my fault that she fits the description.

Today’s final truth: No intellectual or emotional relationship can remain stagnant. True friendship will either grow together or fall apart, often both in its course. It is the double-edged sword of our humanity that the trail behind us of loved ones lost will only ever get longer with time.

I'll also admit to watching way too much HIMYM this last year. Meh.

  1. First of all, How I Met Your Mother is an amazing show.

Everyone can relate to most of, if not all of, what you said.

Mismatched socks are inevitable. Unless by some miracle socks do not get lost in the laundry or dresser.

Hugging tall people is my battle. I’m 5’0″ and for some reason there are hardly any people shorter than I am. That and the fact that there are people under the age of twenty who are tall and make me look like a 17 year old.

As for having enough time in your life to look up all the things on the internet : Challenge Accepted. (Don’t you just love Barney Stinson?)

  2. I haven’t been on here for a while but I have to say I agree with all that you stayed. Reading this actually makes me feel better about things some what. And no worries on The Taylor Swift, she did fit it. Haha. We can all always relate to Friends. Thanks once more for the great post. Keep at your writing you are truly amazing at it. Always look forward to reading your insight and experiments. 😉
